Meet the Thompson and Martin Family


This family is part of my extended family, so when they reached out to book a session, I jumped all over it! This family has grown over the years and pictured you will see, Reid, Paige, Michael, Carolyn, Thomas, Kayla, Tyler, and their two kids Leo and Lainey!


This family is laid back but also about fun, which is what we incorporated in this session! With two young kids, I always want to have a workflow in place ahead of time so once I arrive, we can dive in before they lose interests! Plus we make sure we have fun mixed in with our session to create genuine smiles while the kids are having a great time!

The Session...


When choosing a location, I sent over some ideas to Carolyn, and she decided Lincoln Memorial Gardens would be a great choice for them, and it was PERFECT! This location had so much to offer for this family session, and we barely made it into the park! I would highly recommend this location for any families looking to get family pictures done!


We actually started right off to the side of the parking lot because the tree line and lane was a beautiful set up for some traditional posed family shots with everyone! It was what I would describe as the ideal location, and I would love to get family pictures of my own family in that same location sometime in the future!


Once we got all the groupings finished on the lane, we entered into the park where Leo showed us around and helped pick out more spots for our pictures! We mixed some spots up with a pathway, tree lines, and ended our session with Lake Springfield in the background for BEAUTIFUL pictures (also a location I want to get my family's pictures at)!


We mixed this session up with posed pictures with all the combinations between family units and also added in several candid moments that make you feel the love bursting out of them! Leo's favorite picture task and running and giving hugs to everyone possible... let's just say he didn't want to stop. The results were absolutely perfection!! So many great moments and memories were made during the session, and I had an amazing time getting to be part of it!

To the Thompson and Martin families, thank you for allowing me to photograph your family! I truly had a great time, and I hope you love your gallery as much as I do!
