Not "busy", full of joy!
What a big week it was photographing so many sessions! I got to have an auntie session, couple's session, AND an ONE-YEAR-OLD session this past week! Some may say it was busy, but I like to think of it as full of joy! All the families I hung out with were a blast and a true blessing to be around! It filled my cup up in more ways than one.
Highlights from this week's sessions: Seeing the love four little kids have for their auntie, puppy snuggles, and celebrating the first year of life for a sweet little boy (who was actually born just days before my son)! Each session was so different but had the same impact of filling my heart with joy and love for getting to do what I love!
The Truth
You may be wondering why this week's blog is titled the truth. Well, when I sat down to write this blog, I didn't really know what I wanted to write about. As I thought, I was taken right back to a song that I heard for the first time driving to one of my sessions. It happens to be called "The Truth" by Megan Woods. It was one of those songs that just hit me and instant chill bumps. It encompasses how I want my children, husband, family, AND clients (I mean friends) to look at themselves. It's a prayer I have for you. I want you to read the chorus below (remember these are not my words) and know this is talking about YOU... yes YOU!

I make Him proud, and I make him smile.
I was made in the image of a perfect King.
He looks at me and wouldn't change a thing.

The takeaway
That's powerful y'all! So often we get wrapped up in the world and what they say about us. We let it overtake our lives and our thoughts. We begin to doubt our worth and who we are and who we were made to be. From the moment I met a client, I want you to know and FEEL worthy, beautiful, priceless... just like the Creator of the Universe says you are! You don't have to be anyone else, because He looks at you and WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING. Whether you are quirky, shy, loud, or bold, show that side of you to the camera, because you were made in the image of a PERFECT KING! That's the truth!
This song came on right before one of my sessions and I instantly prayed this song over my family and my clients. I prayed I would be a light of Christ and brighten their day while we were together. I want you to know, you can be real with me. I am not just there to take your pictures. I am there to create beautiful moments, and even if that looks like talking about some hurt going on in your life, or embracing your insecurities, or showing the world just how beautiful/handsome/powerful you are... I am here for all of it. Like I often say, I like to replace the word "client" with "friend", because I think you deserve that. I don't want you to feel like another checkmark in my business calendar. I want you to know you are someone I value and truly care for.
Then, once your gallery is delivered, I want you to be able to scroll through all your photos and say, "Yes, I am worthy, wonderful, and priceless in every way." Then go show the world who you truly are, not who they say you are. Be the force in this crazy world to turn it into a beautiful world!
To wrap this up, go back and read that chorus one more time and know you are incredible!
