Big blessed week


This past week has been FULL of blessings! It started out with a senior session for Aidan (gosh, still obsessing over that session) and ended with taking photos for Williamsville's Autumn on the Boulevard and then, topping it off with a family session with my parents and children! I met so many wonderful people this past week that I am so thankful for. One of the best parts of doing what I do is getting to interact with people from all over!


I will talk about Aidan's senior session in just a moment, but really quick, I want to thank the Williamsville Community Foundation and all the vendors for allowing me to capture Autumn on the Boulevard! It was great to see others pursing their passions and getting to know you all! Having courage to go after something you love is HUGE, and I want to say you were all amazing, and I loved seeing all your creations and products!

The future is bright


Alright y'all, we need to dive into this senior session I had this past week with Aidan! BUT FIRST, let's back up to the very beginning of my photography journey... I will admit, I was hesitant about doing senior sessions, because since becoming a mother, it seems like all I do is interact with little kids and that's my sweet and comfort spot. But the more I thought about it, I thought how cool it is to capture such a pivotal and special chapter in a young adult's life, and not only that, but the future is bright and so exciting for a senior. So... I pushed those hesitations aside when I began doing this professionally, and I AM SO GLAD I DID!


Why do I love senior sessions? Because you get to interact with a young person's life that is entering a whole new world (essentially), and they are taking a big step into this thing we call life. That's a huge deal! If I can make them feel special and proud of their accomplishments for an hour, I want to take every opportunity to! Plus, it is so incredibly amazing to see what makes each senior unique. Everyone has a story, passion, and unique drive that makes them who they are, and that seems to shine through in seniors.


Am I glad I decided to offer senior sessions? 100% ABSOLUTELY! I walk away from each of these sessions with smiles on my face because the excitement in their life is radiant and refreshing.

Alrighty, let's dive into this specific session! Aidan will be graduating next year and spends her time working and participating in church, youth group, and scholastic bowl! She is still exploring different options for her future, including education, ministry and possibly BOTH!


What I loved most about this session was how natural it was and how she incorporated some of her most important parts of her life into this session. One of the first things out of Aidan's mouth was that she loved greenery; so, we made sure we got shots in front of the most beautiful greenery and flowers! We even took a picture at the same exact location in the same exact pose as her stepmom! Now that's pretty cool!


I met Aidan through church and hearing how involved she was in Grindstone (youth group), we knew we had to incorporate this in her session! After taking some pics at Washington Park, we headed to our church and took some pictures showcasing what makes Aidan, Aidan.


A small moment, but one that I want to share because it actually meant a lot was Aidan and I were walking to the church parking lot just the two of us, and we just connected quickly about our walk with Jesus and our faith. I shared part of my story, and I got to hear part of hers! Anytime I get to hear about someone's life, I'm all about it, but when I get to hear about someone's walk with Jesus, I ALWAYS hold it close to my heart; so, thank you for those few minutes of chatting Aidan!

I always want to end my blogs thanking the friends I got to meet and capture moments with this past week! Once again, thank you to the WIlliamsville Community Foundation, all the vendors, community, and of course, Aidan for being a bright spot in my week! You were all incredible and I hope you know I am thankful for you all!
