You can see it in their eyes


This past week, I had the joy of capturing Garron and Regan's love story. Garron reached out to me about doing an engagement session for him and his fiance, and let me just take a second to say I'm so glad he did.


I titled this section, "You can see it in their eyes," because you know that love that you can just tell by the way they look at each other. Yep, these two definitely had that. Whenever I would talk to Regan, Garron would smile at her like he was the luckiest guy to know her, and when I asked Regan what she loved the most about Garron, she looked at him in a way you knew how grateful she was to have him in her life. A love story like that is pretty special. In fact, you can see the love these two have for each other in the way their eye sparkle by looking at each other!

I mean, Garron's smile says it all right there.

Where is all began to now


Garron and Regan met at college, Olivet Nazarene University. Garron previously attended SIUe, but when COVID hit, he transferred to Olivet, where he would ultimately meet Regan. These two were set up on a blind date questionnaire made by someone at the college, and the rest is history.


These two then began spending their time together watching movies, going on walks, and just hanging out! Garron told me even though he is more of an indoors person, they enjoy hanging out outside, because Regan loves the outdoors, and they strive to do what the other loves. If I could give any advice to you guys to hold onto is to keep that selfless giving love through each chapter of your life!

Why??


As I prepare for a session, I always like to get to know my families, couples, and individuals as much as possible beforehand. Well in preparing for this engagement session, I asked, "What do you love the most about each other?" Essentially, why are you here and what had lead you to this point? I like to ask this question because every love story is different, and everyone's story deserves to be told.


Garron responded and said, "My favorite thing about Regan is how she keeps loving me through all of life's challenges and how she always makes time for me and our relationship." You guys... I love this. Life can be HARD and challenging, but to have someone to stick by you through literally all of it, is priceless. That is what makes a love story unique.


Now for Regan's response... I actually asked Regan this at the session, and I have to give some context to what she said. We were standing in the midst of a beautiful walking trail enclosed by trees, and when you stopped to take it in, it was breathtaking. I asked Regan this question, and IMMEDIATELY she looked at Garron in the eyes and said she loved how caring he was and how he loves her GREATLY. In the midst of all this breathtaking beauty, she locked eyes on his and essentially was saying, "he's my person."

The yes day


Going back to April 27th, 2024, it was another "normal" day for Garron and Regan. Regan loves going to garage sales (I can 100% relate); so, Garron took her to several garage sales throughout the day. Afterwards, they found themselves at a vineyard in Maple Park, Illinois, where he asked her to marry him.


What I love about this proposal story is it isn't "grand" like some would say, but it's special. Garron knew what Regan loved and incorporated it into their story. He made the day about HER. Men... here's a lesson, not every girl needs the whole world, they just want you to be their world. That's what Garron did. He made their love story about what Regan loves, which showed her that he cares for her, and she's important to him.


These two will tie the knot on June 27 next year. I am so excited to see what the future holds for them, and I know no doubt their story will continue to be wonderful!
