Are Pets Welcome?

One of the most common questions I receive is, "Can I bring my pet to my session?" Since this comes up often, I wanted to create a blog to clarify my pet policy for clients in Central Illinois.

In most cases, you are welcome to bring your pets! The only exception is when a location does not allow animals on their property. While this is rare, I always ensure my clients follow the venue's rules. Some locations, such as pumpkin patches or mini sessions held on properties with animals, may have restrictions on pets. As a photographer, I must respect their policies. If you’ve booked a mini session and would like to bring your pet, please contact me in advance so I can confirm whether the location permits animals.

Outside of these specific situations, pets are always welcome at full sessions! Whether you book a 30-minute or 60-minute session, you can bring your furry friend—after all, they are part of the family! Over the years, I have photographed many pets, including dogs and even a pony! For the safety of everyone, I kindly ask that your pet be friendly and either on a leash or well-trained to stay by your side. If we are meeting at a public location, such as a park, please remember to clean up after your pet to maintain a respectful environment.

During your session, I will capture a mix of candid moments, sweet interactions, and close-up shots of your pet’s unique features. Of course, I will also ensure we get a beautiful family portrait that includes your beloved companion!

As you prepare for your session, feel free to bring your four-legged family member—I love capturing the entire family, pets included! Please let me know ahead of time when you are bringing a pet, whether that is in your questionnaire or by messaging me, so I can be prepared for your session to better serve you!
